GWCS ONLINE EVENTS CALENDAR - UPDATED DAILY
Every week in the WYNK a staff or faculty member will share with us something they are ‘diggin’! It may be a music artist, a museum, a hobby, a book, a tech tool, a recipe, a game, a fun fact… you name it!
What I'm Diggin' this Week…
I'm absolutely loving the "HOW TO!" podcast. I just listened to the September 3rd episode, "How To Cook at Home like Sohla El-Waylly"-one of my food heroes- and am looking forward to "How To Survive a Disaster," which features CERT training—wow!

Calling All GWCS Parents & Guardians!
We are so excited to invite you all to our Back-to-School Night Potluck on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:00 pm. It’s going to be a great opportunity to not only meet your student’s teachers, but also get to know other GWCS parents and enjoy a meal together!
Note: This is a parents/guardians only event.
PLEASE Click here to R.S.V.P. bY mONDAY, sEPT. 16, 2024
Support Your School & Enjoy Pizza!
REMEMBER to bring CASH to school every TUESDAY to buy a slice of pizza, a snack, and/or a drink! Stash a $5 in your backpack right now while you’re thinking about it. All of the Coyote Cafe PROCEEDS will be used for school supplies, activities, and special events such as the annual SPRING PALOOZA!
What to Do After School?
IT’S 3:15 PM. THE SCHOOL DAY IS OVER BUT YOU DON’T WANT TO LEAVE!
No worries - we’ve got you covered. Linked below are descriptions of the GWCS elective classes and clubs and a signup link. These electives and clubs meet after-school (a.k.a. 8th period) . The best place to confirm times and dates from week to week is on the GWCS Calendar. We encourage all students to try at least one (or more). Electives are classes which means attendance is taken and grades and credit are earned. Clubs are more casual, and students do not earn grades or credit.

Theatre Elective Reading…
tuesdays at 3:15 pm BEGINNING 9/10
Tuesday, September 17th at 3:15 pm. Informal event. Please join us to read scripts that could potentially become future GWCS productions. Make sure the director gets to hear you read and act before it is time to choose a cast next month! You are not enrolled in theatre the moment you open your mouth, this is just for fun! Thanks!
Mr. Goldie
goldiera@gwcommunityschool.com
NOTE: Theatre Elective will begin next week. By October 15th rehearsals will most likely be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday after school from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm, and Sunday afternoon for a performance in December. (more info)
Camp Coyote…
Calling all Outdoorsy, Adventurous Coyotes!
This is an All-School Event!
Join us on Friday, September 27th for our annual overnight - Camp Coyote! We will depart GWCS at 2:45pm to head to Burke Lake Campground Small Group Sites #A6 + #A7 on Friday, with overnight pick up on Saturday morning at 8am.
If you are interested in helping transport students to the campground, please email Mrs. Kohler.
For any coyotes who prefer to sleep in a bed rather than a tent: there is a half-night option, with pickup no later than 10pm on Friday evening. Please make sure to note on the permission form whether your student will be attending for a full night or half night, along with any other allergies/dietary needs we should be aware of. Permission slips should be turned into Mrs. Kohler no later than Tuesday, Sept 24th.
Interested in loaning gear or donating snacks/drinks? Please use the below SignUpGenius to contribute. Any donations or equipment can be stashed in Suite 120 (the staff kitchen area) – thank you for your support! Please label all equipment clearly.
