MISSED THE ONLINE AUCTION?

THERE ARE Still a few things you can win!

We've now raised more than $20,000 in our 2017 GWCS Online Auction!  If you missed out, here's your chance to purchase one of the remaining items:

  • Several beautiful hand knit scarves from Marian Foster, Ben's Grandmother.  The scarves are in Alexa's office so you can check them out when you are at school.

Contact Deiadre Rauch at deiadrerauch@me.com to purchase an item.  You can also still make a cash donation by clicking on the "Donate Now" button on the auction site or leaving a check with Ms. Mauney at the front desk.

Many thanks to our entire community for their generosity!  We are so excited to have hit the $20K mark, and the entire faculty at GWCS is thrilled for what the auction funds will bring to the school.  We will keep you posted on where and how the funds will be used!

Snacks, give-a-ways and other free, fun stuff (like historic house tours and educational opportunities) will take place at the work sites.

Two Groups:

  1. Ms. Warden will lead the Riverbend Park Cleanup

The student of the week is JOSH CLARK for demonstrating the GWCS value of  LEARNING.

Ms. Newton writes: "Josh has been doing consistently well in Anatomy & Physiology throughout the year but this past unit he has just been on fire! Between turning in detailed (to scale) drawings of bones, taking his coloring exercises to the next level (they are put on the refrigerator at home worthy). Watching him in action during dissections is also something! It’s like watching a meticulous surgeon getting down to business. I am thoroughly impressed with Josh’s sense of humor, dedication, and enthusiasm for this subject."

Check out the 'Student of the Week' bulletin board near Mr. Pereira's classroom. Each week a student is recognized for his or her demonstration of one of the eight GWCS Values.

GWCS VALUES: LEARNING, SERVICE, KINDNESS, EXCELLENCE, RESPONSIBILITY, INVESTMENT, TEAM PLAY, INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY

SPRINGFIELD:  In an upset victory, 'Make Prom Great Again' has won as this year's prom theme!  Even though 'Under the Sea' won the Popular Vote, 'Make Prom Great Again' won the electoral college in a landslide.  The landslide was huge.  Really the best, the biggest landslide.  And this is going to be the greatest, hugest prom ever!

Rioting has reportedly begun, as local Joey Kelley has flipped a chair on accident.

Prom will be held on May 20th at Patriot Hall in Vienna.

Corruptly,

The SGA
