The Student of the Week this week is  NICK O'NEAL for demonstrating the GWCS value of INVESTMENT

If you are trying to find someone to help with a project, move a piece of furniture, or find the answer to a history puzzle, start with Nick!  Nick values every opportunity.  He works hard, helps others, and enjoys doing it!  Aside from his regular amount of schoolwork and homework and his commitments to the basketball team and the robotics team, Nick has also added ‘lead in the school play’ to his list of duties!  Nick’s investment in his school makes his school a better place to be for everyone!

Check out the 'Student of the Week' bulletin board near Mr. Pereira's classroom. Each week a student is recognized for his or her demonstration of one of the eight GWCS Values.

GWCS VALUES: LEARNING, SERVICE, KINDNESS, EXCELLENCE, RESPONSIBILITY, INVESTMENT, TEAM PLAY, INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY

RESUME WRITING WORKSHOP...

Most high school students don't think they need a resume.  This is far from the truth!  It is an essential way to help market yourself for any position, job, or volunteer opportunity and sets you apart from other applicants.

The GWCS R.E.A.L. Term Spring Co-Op program is the perfect opportunity to assemble or cleanup your student resume!  Because many Co-Op hosts request a student resume, we work with all of our juniors and seniors to have one in place before spring.  During this mandatory resume writing workshop for all juniors and seniors, Ms. Stombres, Mr. Pereira, Dr. Garon and Mr. Wallace will all be available to assist, inspire and answer questions as juniors and seniors work on their resumes.

Please come prepared!

  • WHAT:  Resume Writing Workshop
  • WHO:  Mandatory for all GWCS juniors & seniors
  • DATE: Wednesday, December 6, 2017
  • TIME: 8:15 am - 9:15 am (no gym!)

THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE TICKETS...

Get your tickets today for the upcoming gwcs one act play!

The GWCS Theatre students have been rehearsing almost daily for their upcoming performance of The Actor's Nightmare.

ticket.jpeg

"The Actor's Nightmare is a short comic play by Christopher Durang. It involves an accountant named George Spelvin, who is mistaken for an actor's understudy and forced to perform in a play for which he doesn't know any of the lines...

The play was inspired by dreams actors and performers often have in which they are about to go onstage and cannot remember their lines/rehearsal instructions. Durang himself had an actor's nightmare after performing in this play in which he could not remember any lines, could not find his script, and when he did find the script it was gibberish to him."  ~ Wikipedia
