LOOKING AT NEXT WEEK: Sept 24 - Oct 1, 2016

STUDENT OF THE WEEK...

The student of the week is JOSH CLARK for demonstrating the GWCS value of  INVESTMENT.

Josh consistently demonstrates investment and Coyote Pride in the SGA.  He made Pirate Day happen (so if you had a good time, give Josh a high five and a “yarrr!”), he aided in the planning of and attended the Camping Trip, and he has just been generally helpful. Josh wants to see GWCS thrive and be the best that it can be.

Check out the 'Student of the Week' bulletin board near Mr. Pereira's classroom. Each week a student is recognized for his or her demonstration of one of the eight GWCS Values.

GWCS Values: Learning, Service, Kindness, Excellence, Responsibility, Investment, Team Play, Intellectual Curiosity

WELCOME TIMBER...

Dr. Garon's sweet pup, Timber, is happy to be the newest GWCS faculty member.  He'll "work" two-three afternoons a week.  Timber reports that he enjoyed his first day on Monday but was extremely exhausted by day's end. Although he loves people,  Timber's not accustomed to so many at one time.  Timber is a rescue dog - that doesn't necessarily mean he'll demonstrate heroism in the face of an emergency, unless the menace comes in the form of a squirrel, chipmunk, or kitty-cat.  Please don't ask about his breed.  He fancies himself an Australian Shepherd or Border Collie - something with a herding instinct - but his DNA test says otherwise.  And that's all he'll say about that.

INTERNATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY

Monday, September 19, 2016

Special thanks to our amazing Student Government Association (SGA) for organizing last Monday's annual Pirate event!  To set the mood... the SGA decorated the school in an attractive pirate motif and piped pirate music into the cafe. Many students and staff came to school dressed as pirates but, for those who forgot, the SGA had pirate hats...  read more in GWCS News
