GWCS ONLINE EVENTS CALENDAR - UPDATED DAILY
ATTENTION GWCS JUNIORS…
Every fall, the GWCS junior class heads north to Gettysburg. It is not truly analogous to Lee’s march on Gettysburg in 1863, but we mention it. Of course, we ride on highways through rolling hills and arrive in good condition and good spirits in less than three hours, and Lee’s troops arrived after a forty day March, but still, the similarities are undeniable.” ~ Richard Goldie 2016

Monster Mash Halloween 5k
Saturday, oct. 29
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Monster Mash Halloween 5K, which will take place on October 29th. This exciting event is not only a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween but also an opportunity to support one of our local elementary schools.
Event Details:
• Date: October 29th
• Time: 8:00 AM
• Location: Franklin Sherman Elementary School, McLean
• Arrival Time: Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to ensure a smooth start.
The Monster Mash Halloween 5K is more than just a fun run; it's a chance for us to support Franklin Sherman Elementary School and the wonderful children they educate.
Additionally, for GW Community School students, this 5K presents an excellent opportunity to earn 3 hours of community service. It's a great way to contribute to our community while also gaining valuable experience and service hours that can enhance your personal and academic growth.
We encourage all of you to participate in the Monster Mash Halloween 5K and invite your friends and family to join in on the spooky fun. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to support a great cause, this event is for you!

Let's come together as a school community to make this Halloween season extra special by dressing up (or not) and walking or running a 5k to support the Franklin Sherman Elementary School. We look forward to seeing you at Franklin Sherman Elementary on October 29th, be ready to run or walk and have a monstrously good time!
