OBX (Outside the Box Education) is an nine-week program that takes place every Tuesdays during fourth quarter for GWCS eighth-graders, freshmen, and sophomores. This year, students will be on and off-campus for collaborative and experiential learning activities.
Please do not schedule doctor appointments for Tuesdays during 4th Quarter. We have an exciting lineup of events for all of our Tuesdays. See below for more information!

Destination: The Spy Museum
About: Embark on a thrilling journey into the amazing world of espionage at the Spy Museum. Located in the heart of a city known for its secrets, this immersive institution invites you to delve deep into the shadowy realm of spies, intelligence, and covert operations. Uncover the fascinating stories of real-life agents, double agents, and masterminds who shaped history with their daring missions and cunning strategies. Please dress casually and wear shoes that are suitable for walking long distances, and bring money for lunch to purchase at the food court located adjacent to the museum. Please make sure you avoid bringing a bag unless absolutely necessary.
Meet at GWCS: 8:00 am (Go directly to school - NO GYM)
Pickup at GWCS: 3:15 pm
Bring/Wear:
Shorts, GWCS Shirts, good museum-walking shoes + $$ for lunch
NO BAGS
Lunch: Bring Cash for L’Enfant Plaza Food Court
Transportation: Metro
The OBX field trips are mandatory, and all students will receive a quarter credit for attending the OBX activities. If for some reason you cannot make it next Tuesday, please let me know in advance so that we can adjust our ride lists and activities accordingly.

FINAL EXAMS
FINALS will be June 10 - 14.
Note that this year we are doing a CPR/AED/First Aid Course the afternoon of Tuesday, June 11 and it is mandatory for all students to attend. For a Virginia High School Diploma, students must complete a First Aid/CPR/AED course through their high school so it can be included on their transcript.
