Tamara Pincus: “Let’s Talk about Gender”
Tamara Pincus, Ophelia's mom and a licensed clinical social worker, will facilitate a discussion about gender. We will review some general definitions and allow you to ask questions both anonymously and out loud about gender and sexual identity.

OBX (Outside the Box Education) is an nine-week program that takes place every Tuesdays during fourth quarter for GWCS eighth-graders, freshmen, and sophomores. This year, students will be on and off-campus for collaborative and experiential learning activities.
Please do not schedule doctor appointments for Tuesdays during 4th Quarter. We have an exciting lineup of events for all of our Tuesdays. See below for more information!

Destination: The National Museum of the American Indian
About: For our first OBX field trip we are going to the National Museum of the American Indian. At the museum, students will have the opportunity to explore captivating exhibitions, engaging artifacts, and immersive displays that celebrate the diverse heritage of indigenous peoples across the Americas. From ancient traditions to contemporary expressions, this excursion promises to broaden horizons and inspire curiosity. Join us as we delve into the fascinating world of Native American heritage and return to GWCS enriched with knowledge and appreciation. We will be back at the school by 3:15 pm, capping off a day filled with exploration and learning.
Meet at GWCS: 9:00 am (Go directly to school - NO GYM)
Pickup at GWCS: 3:15 pm
Bring/Wear: Business casual clothes and walking shoes – no backpacks, Pjs, sweats, or flip flops + MetroCard (or money for fare)
Lunch: Students should bring cash for food trucks ($15-$25)
Transportation: School Van & Cars to the Metro
