SGA March events: Auction, Coffee House and more...

The SGA sponsored a number of after school events for the GW community.  To help students earn community service they invited students to stay after school to write letters of support to our troops overseas. Students earned one hour  of community service for this event, and the SGA plans to host many more community service events in the coming months!  The other two big annual events in March were the St. Patty's Day Auction and Coffee House... 

ST PATTY’S DAY AUCTION -- March 17, 2011

This year's St. Patty's Day Auction brought in over $700.  The luck of the Irish – a real pot of gold!  Every year the GW community cleans out their closets and under their beds and donates practical, and often silly, gently used items.  Mr. Hartman auctions each item with descriptions that inform the audience of the incredible value and irresistible usefulness of each and every item.  One could never predict exactly which items on the table will induce the intense bidding wars that occur.

COFFEE HOUSE – March 18, 2011

Coffee House, the annual GW-wide talent show, was a big success! Students and teachers alike shared their talent with other students, parents, alumni and staff.  Acts ranged from singing to drumming, comedy acts and spoken word. The show even overcame a brief power-outage of half the school, but we were still able to serve the coffee and cookies that are always a hit! Thank you to all who donated and came out to show your support! See you next year!
