Coyote Robotics Reaches New Heights at the FTC Shenandoah Qualifying Tournament

First and Second (800x532)Saturday, Jan. 28, the two GW Community School/Coyote Robotics Teams, FTC 965 "Redstone Rangers" and FTC 3749 "Department of Redundancy Department" faced off against 25 other teams from Virginia, West Virginia, and DC in the FTC Shenandoah Qualifying Tournament. This was the last of 3 consecutive Saturday qualifying tournaments, and the field included the champions from all three previous Virginia tournaments we attended.

St. Patricks Day Auction – Friday, March 16, 2012 

This in-school auction will take place near the end of the school day. It is geared towards students but of course parents and alumni are more than welcome to attend. It's always lots of fun.

GWCS LARP - A Group Devoted to Hitting Each Other

 

Robotics2011cThe GWCS LARP (Live-Action Role Play) Club is a group devoted to hitting each other with a bunch of swords, and magic.  Every Tuesday after school (weather and holiday permitting), a group of student LARPers walk out on to the field and proceed to battle with their weapons of foam, tape, plastic, etc.  Everyone has their own health and abilities which they use to their full advantage to try and defeat their opponents.  All players join the army of Sir Lancelot (played by Matthew Gaughan) or Sir Galahad (played by Michael Schneider), the two Knights of Conundrum and help their team to victory.  Players can either make up their own character and classes or they can choose a premade character made by Michael Schneider.
