Kudos from Ronald McDonald House

The longest running and arguably most fun community service event here at GW Community School was just paid a huge compliment! Ronald McDonald House charities serves the community by providing a home away from home for patients and their families who are staying at Fairfax County Hospital. Once a week a Ms. Bowen takes a few students over to the “house” and cooks dinner for the residents there. This week after an amazing display of culinary expertise, we put out a wonderful spread of spaghetti, Ceasar salad and parmesan garlic bread. Before we were even finished the meal a new mother (in her forties, just having given birth to her first children, twins at that) gave us a great compliment on how well we worked, how great our food was, and how amazing it was that students were willing to give up their time to come and volunteer. Congrats GWCS for really making a difference in the community!
