Mr. Pereira accepts the Washington Post Agnes Meyer teacher of the year award

On Tuesday, May 12th Mr. Pereira was accompanied to the awards ceremoncy by his wife, parents, sister, colleagues, students and GWCS parents.Mr. Pereira has been awarded the 2008-2009 Agnes Myer Outstanding Teacher Award through The Washington Post. This award is made even more significant as it is awarded to only ONE private school teacher in The Washington Post readership area. At the beginning of the year, Mr. P. chose “Excellence” as the GWCS value that he represents, and now it is officially confirmed. Mr. Pereira will be honored in a ceremony at The Washington Post on May 12 th , and after that date we will have a community celebration to recognize his achievement. Thank you to all the parents, alumni and students who wrote letters on Mr. Pereira's behalf. Congratulations, Mr. P., for representing excellence in our community!
