Lowest Scores in School History

It was May 4th. It was a cold and rainy day. Joe RC had a 38. Patrick Maton had a 41. These were new lows for GWCS students. They had just come up from their first SCUBA diving experience in open water and those were their maximum depths on their dive computers. We were diving at
Lake Rawlings in southern Virginia and the visibility was excellent. The course was taught by world-renown diving master Ed Fink of Woodbridge Scuba. Joe and Patrick completed four dives in two trips to Lake Rawlings and were awarded their Open Water certifications. Josh Barton and Richie Catherina have also completed their class work and pool dives and will be headed for the open water later this month. Becoming Open Water certified was a fun and serious learning experience that gives all of the kids in the diving class a nice credential to add to their life’s-work résumés.
