GWCS Walks for the Homeless

PDF Print E-mail

The GW community traditionally participates in the annual Fannie Mae Help-the-Homeless-Walk-a-Thon.  Due to conflicts with other school activities, GW could not walk this year.  But not letting that stop them, they organized their own mini-homeless-walk-a-thon.  The school raised $1,300 for the homeless and on October 15, almost the entire school donned their walk-a-thon t-shirts and walked to nearby King’s Park.  On the Tuesday before the walk, the students participated in an inter-active education seminar presented by Wesley Housing to help them gain a better understanding of homelessness.
