GWCS Honors physics wins a trophy at the Lake Accotink cardboard boat regatta
Last Updated on Monday, 24 August 2009 13:45
Their boat, Luminiferous, manned by Andy and Johan, won the School and Civic Groups category, with a time of 1 minute 41 seconds. Andy and Joseph manned the boat in the just-for-fun survivors race at the end of the day, winning their heat and coming in with the second fastest time. Luminiferous is a great boat that's still sturdy and strong after two races, while most of the other boats were virtually poured into the dumpster after the first or second race. Congratulations to Andy, Joseph, Drew, James, Johan and Paulina, and thanks to Joe R-C who showed up to help launch the boat. A great design, good planning and admirable teamwork led to their victory. Go Coyotes!
