GWCS Robotics Teams Rock their First Scrimmage of the Year

PDF Print E-mail

The GWCS Robotics teams attended the workshop/practice/scrimmage at VCU in Richmond Saturday, November 21st. Both GWCS Robotics teams made an impressive showing. Out of 13 teams to participate, our two robots were by far more advanced in their development. During the afternoon session, only two other robots actually made it on to the field for testing. Mostly, it was just our two robots practicing by themselves and against each other. Both robots scored impressively in both the autonomous and remote-controlled modes of the game. There is work ahead before our first official tournament Dec. 19 at Oakton High School, but we are definitely out in front!

Thanks to all the kids who worked hard preparing, and who made the trip to participate.  And special thanks to the four parents who helped drive and generally cheer on our team.  With 10 students in Richmond (out of 11 in the program), we had great participation and are almost as big as the school basketball team!  Go Coyotes!
