College Visite Days Excite

PDF Print E-mail

GW juniors and a few seniors were not at school on February 2nd and 3rd because they were taking time to visit colleges all over the state and even out of state. GW sets aside two days every February so that students can spend time on college campuses when school is in session. Summer time may be a more convenient time for high school students to visit colleges - but to get the real flavor of campus life it's important to visit while school is in session. Students are encouraged to visit a wide range of schools: big, small, public, private, in state, out of state. For juniors, these first visits are not necessarily about visiting a college you know you want to attend but instead visiting a wide variety and just getting a sense for what feels like a good fit. For seniors, it s an opportunity to revisit colleges where students have been accepted to help clarify their choices. Colleges visited this year include: George Washington, Lynchburg, George Mason, Mary Washington, Marymount, McDaniel, Catholic University, Christopher Newport, Georgetown, Sweet Briar, Guilford, High Point, Beacon College and the College of At & Design. Read parent and student reviews of their college visits on the GW College Blog.
