Academic Spotlight: WCWG with Goldie
Last Updated on Monday, 24 January 2011 11:43
World Civilizations and World Geography turns into a Short History of Nearly Everything. WCWG is not your father’s boring history class. Instead, it is an incredible course that teaches sophomores that they can handle a college level world civilization textbook and survive. But WCWG students also read Bill Bryson’s best-selling book, A Short History of Nearly Everything. Bill Bryson wrote this book because in his school experience, text books were boring and confusing. As he said, “it was as if [they] wanted to keep the good stuff secret by making it soberly unfathomable.” WCWG, like all academics at GW Community School, makes the good stuff interesting and fun.
